eNetCube - New sensor for motion and access monitoring

With this new device, MKC is expanding the eNetCube product family to include a smart solution for detecting movement and monitoring the status of doors and windows.

The new sensor combines a passive infrared (PIR) sensor with a magnetic contact in a compact network device. This makes it ideal for applications in building automation, industrial monitoring, and smart building and IoT solutions. Movement and switch states are reliably detected and can be processed immediately by higher-level systems.

All devices in the eNetCube series are based on an open system architecture. Communication takes place via Ethernet with Power over Ethernet (PoE), meaning that data transmission and power supply are provided via a single network cable. Open interfaces such as HTTP, REST-JSON and MQTT enable easy integration into existing applications, building management systems or automation platforms such as Node-RED or openHAB.

A key feature of the eNetCube product family is its consistent avoidance of proprietary cloud services. The devices operate entirely within the local network and can be easily configured via the integrated web server. This means users retain full control over their data at all times and can integrate the devices into existing infrastructures without the need for registration, an app or a cloud connection.

With the eNetCube product family, MKC aims to provide intelligent network devices that can be easily and sustainably integrated into existing systems thanks to open standards. Rather than relying on proprietary solutions, the product family is firmly committed to interoperability, data sovereignty and a technology platform designed for long-term use.  The new motion sensor adds another key sensor function to this platform and offers users a future-proof solution for building automation, industrial applications and bespoke IoT projects.

The eNetCube Motion Sensor is available in two versions: a standard version for indoor applications and an IP55 variant for use in more demanding environments.
