With the founding of an engineering office for hardware and software development in the industrial sector in 1979, Peter Michels laid the foundation for today's MKC Michels & Kleberhoff Computer GmbH, which he founded four years later together with Dipl.-Ing. Lutz Kleberhoff.
With three employees, industrial computers based on a Z80 CPU with a CP/M-compatible ZDOS operating system were developed and manufactured. Until then, the use of "intelligent" electronics was largely unknown. MKC was a pioneer in this sector, which is very successful today.
MKC has now been operating successfully on the market for more than 40 years. In this decades-long tradition, the further development of the company has been driven by slow but continuous growth and the training of employees. The company has moved into new premises several times in order to meet the space requirements for the larger machine park and the increasing number of employees.
The basis of this success was that the business area was expanded to include the development and manufacture of customer-specific products and the focus of the company's own product range shifted over the years from industrial computers to network components for automation technology and industrial measurement technology.
Today, the company is an ISO 9001:2015-certified competent partner for the development and production of customer-specific electronic assemblies and complete systems and offers 25 employees a secure job.

Our previous managing partner, Dipl.-Ing. Peter Michels, went into well-deserved retirement on May 31 of this year. He was the initiator for the foundation of MKC Michels & Kleberhoff Computer GmbH and, together with Mr. Dipl.-Ing. Lutz Kleberhoff, has successfully steered our company through all the ups and downs of business life. His work laid the solid foundation on which MKC Michels & Kleberhoff Computer GmbH stands today.
In order to ensure the continuity of our successful work, the long-standing head of our development department, Dipl.-Ing. Guido Wöhler, was appointed as an additional managing director on June 1, 2010. We have known him for 18 years as a proven and reliable employee and are confident that you will always find a competent contact person in him.
